Entitlement Certification

This Quick Start will guide you through the processes of Certifying System/Application Access Entitlements.

The Certifications menu provides Entitlement owners with an interface to review certification requests.

Note

To certify an entitlement you or your role must be the owner of an entitlement that has an Expiration Type of either "Time-based" or "Campaign-based."

  1. In RapidIdentity, select the Requests module.

  2. Select Tasks from the left side bar.

  3. Click on Certifications.

    1. If you have Certifications to manage, the quantity will display in parenthesis.

  4. The certifications for the entitlement workspace will display. Select the entitlement and click the Details in the far right to view any messages or information regarding the entitlement.

    1. Certifications can be viewed in either a list or grid interface. This section displays entitlements that are within a chosen window of expiration. This window defaults to one week, but can be customized to display entitlements within varying windows of expiration: two weeks, one month, three months, six months, or one year.

      The list of Certifications display in the center of the screen and can be filtered by My Certifications or By People. The left panel will display the number of certifications that require action in parenthesis next to Certifications.

  5. Entitlement owners can select one or more requests to certify, and then choose to Certify, Extend, or Expire the entitlement. Refer to the below table for information on the actions.

Action

Description

Certify

The Certify button will certify the selected entitlement request(s) for another time period. Certification requests are selected via the check box in the far left column of the tasks pane and it is possible to certify multiple entitlements simultaneously. When selected, a dialogue box will appear. Click Yes to confirm or No to discard.

Note

The Certify action is only available to entitlements that do not have the Disable Certification/Extension option set on the entitlement.

Extend

The Extend button will extend the selected entitlement request(s) by the selected timeframe. Extension requests are selected via the check box in the far left column of the tasks pane and it is possible to extend multiple entitlements simultaneously. When selected, a dialogue box will appear. Click Yes to confirm or No to discard.

Note

The Extend action is only available to entitlements that do not have the Disable Certification/Extension option set on the entitlement.

Expire

The Expire button will immediately expire the selected entitlement request(s). Expiration requests are selected via the check box in the far left column of the tasks pane and it is possible to expire multiple entitlements simultaneously. When selected, a dialogue box will appear. Click Yes to confirm or No to discard.
